River action leaflet (3)

What a meeting on Friday 11th Feb… people flooded in from as far away as Hookwood, Reigate, Leatherhead and Ifield, listened to the 2 speakers and asked their questions.

Here’s the info which neatly summarises the problem…

A major question was – WHAT NEXT?

  1. We’re setting up a steering group to research and develop the way forward. Its first meeting is Thursday 24th, via Zoom.
  2. We’d like to start up a ‘Grounded’ Group, to take care of our beautiful River Mole + Pippbrook + other rivers and streams in the catchment area from Crawley to Leatherhead. Groups will take a short length under their wing and monitor water quality / improve banks and water flow etc…
  3. We also need a social media expert to launch twitter campaigns and other publicity.

Interested?  Let us know at contact@dorking-climate-emergency.net

We’ll send out a newsletter after the steering group has met, but in the meantime register for our newsletter at contact@dorking-climate-emergency.net and let us know if you’d like to be involved.

Can’t wait to hear from you.
