Let’s talk dirty…..

Surrey is one of the 3 highest carbon emitters per household in the entire country.

Our household consumption carbon footprints are bigger and blacker than almost any other area of the UK.

Figures produced by reputable researchers including the Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE) in association with University of Exeter, UK central Government BEIS dept, Nottingham City Council and Energy Hub, reveal the stark truth at:

This is a huge wake-up call for every one of us.

Need to imagine it?  A tonne of CO₂ takes up the space of 4 double decker buses in the earth’s atmosphere. That’s around 80 bus-loads per Mole Valley household EACH YEAR.

It gets worse….

International aviation, international shipping and overseas f-gases (refrigerants) are not included in these estimates, and so the numbers are even higher.

The values are in metric tonnes of CO₂ equivalent per annum per household, based on consumption. Not just the direct emissions.

The consumption considers: goods & services, food & diet, housing (energy), transport and waste.
