Our core aim is to have Mole Valley and Surrey County councils declare a climate emergency. Please contact us to join our vital campaign.

There are other initiatives around Dorking, each of which addresses the causes of climate change and would love your help too.

Dorking Community Fridge

Dorking Community Fridge collect unwanted food from retailers and make it available, for no charge, to anyone.

Their aim is to reduce food waste. It’s estimated between 19% and 29% of greenhouse gases is emissions come from food production, so the Community Fridge makes a direct contribution to reducing carbon footprint.

Dorking Food Float

Dorking Food Float is a non-profit organisation that sells fresh, locally produced and in season-food at a stall in Dorking High Street every Friday and Saturday morning.

This makes a direct contribution to reducing carbon footprint by reducing food miles (food flown by air in particular is very damaging), and also by selling in-season food that hasn’t needed to be hot-housed. Hot-housing food out of season is very energy intensive.

Please contact Food Float on their website at if you’d like to help or find out more.

Dorking Repair Café

Held on the first Saturday morning of every month, the Repair Café team will attempt to repair your devices and clothing for free.

In particular they can help with clothing, electrical items and mechanical items.

Every item saved from landfill by an extended life delays the carbon footprint of manufacturing a replacement.

Please message the Repair Café via their Facebook Page if you have skills to offer, or just want something fixed!
